We kick off the four-day week with a basic tip for BlackBerry users. The more advanced probably know how to do this already, but I’m sure this will benefit a few someones out there. Did you know your BlackBerry has a relatively simple copy and paste function? If not, you can find out how after the jump.

One of the best things about owning a BlackBerry device is that once you have set up your email accounts, you never have to do it again – even if you replace or lose your device. The BlackBerry platform uses a server-side service to push email to you and to retain your settings, so configuring [...]

Meet the latest BlackBerry to obtain a code-name! This is BlackBerry Aries which is also modeled the 8530. It happens to be the CDMA counterpart to the Gemini which was shown a month or so ago. Like the 8530, “Aries” will be a lower end model featuring the new optical trackpad, full QWERTY keyboard, soft rubber back, dedicated play/pause keys on the top and most likely Wi-Fi. Because it runs CDMA technology its expected you will see this model end up on Verizon, Sprint, Bell and Telus. No word on a launch date as of yet, but most likely you will see it later Summer (think Back to School).

It’s all about the BlackBerry Storm 2. We thought the Tour would be the next big BlackBerry release, and it still might be. However, it looks like the Storm 2 will hit shelves at about the same time, giving Verizon a 1-2 BlackBerry punch unmatched by any other carrier.

Ina Fried of CNET faced one of the worst situations for a BlackBerry owner — short of dropping it off a 12-story high rise, that is. She did what 885,000 Britons do every year and dropped her phone in the toilet. It was a BlackBerry Curve, so you can imagine our concern. It’s like witnessing a particularly gruesome sports injury. No, it didn’t happen to me, but the empathetic pain borders on physical. She Googled “what to do if your cell phone gets wet,” which is a shame, because if she Googled what to do if your BlackBerry gets wet she would have found our article on BBGeeks. Unfortunately, Fried didn’t follow much of the advice. So did her BlackBerry survive the dunk in the tank?

We’re changing things up in light of WES this week. Our morning post will be News From The Wire, and we’ll have a feature-y post headed up later. This is the heavier news from WES. During the week we covered a lot of application related stuff. Now it’s onto the juicy stuff. It’s a bit disappointing, honestly, because we didn’t get two of the more anticipated announcements.

The BlackBerry is now a multimedia machine. We’ve talked in the past about using your BlackBerry as an MP3 player, because music is a universal art. However, where there are MP3s there are audio books. We’ve also talked about listening to audio books on your BlackBerry, but now there’s an easier way. Audible, a company which specializes in electronic audio books, has released a BlackBerry application. It’s pretty comprehensive, and it’s a great addition for the bibliophiles among us.

We’re going with a theme for this week’s theme review feature: 2009 movies. We’ll go with one released earlier this year, one currently in theaters, and one slated for later this summer. The idea actually comes from Themes4bb, who sent us a theme for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie. So we looked for some other movie themes, and came up with two others: Wolverine (though the theme isn’t geared towards the movie) and Watchmen. After the jump we’ll dive into these blockbusters.

This one went down a couple of days ago, but it’s something I definitely want to share with the BBGeeks community. U.S. Cellular is offering quite the promotion: bring your dead or dying battery into any U.S Cellular store and get a replacement for free. No hassle, no check to see if your phone is still under warranty. The only condition is that you have purchased your phone in the past 18 months. As long as you meet that criteria, you can quit charging your BlackBerry every night and start practicing effective battery habits with a brand new, fully charged battery.

Features:
- Listen – Stream the best podcasts, radio shows and other great audio to your mobile phone.
- Customize – Stitch your favorite programs into personalized, on-demand stations.
- Discover – Find new shows you’ll love in Stitcher’s stations, or let Stitcher recommend shows to you based on your preferences.

One thing I love about the BlackBerry is the easy of scrolling through my message archive. Wherever I am, I can find the past 30 or so days worth of email, so if anything comes up I’m prepared. Unfortunately, finding the mail I’ve sent from the device isn’t as clear-cut. Sent messages don’t show up in the main message screen (though that’s a good thing), and a look through the View Folders option reveals nothing but SMS logs and, as always, Inboxes. Your BlackBerry does store sent messages. It just takes a quick search to get there.

We first talked about the ÜberTwitter BlackBerry client a month ago, and the response was pretty strong. People noted in the comments that they favored this over all other BlackBerry Twitter apps, including some that have been around much longer. Good news today from the ÜberTwitter crew: they’re readying a new beta release with some upgrades. After the jump, we’ll list the chances in the new beta.
